Garda Medical Scheme FAQs

  • The Garda Medical Scheme is a private medical aid plan available exclusively to members of An Garda Síochána. It is designed to help members manage the cost of healthcare by offering financial support for a wide range of medical expenses, including hospital stays, consultations and treatments.

  • At MedHub, active Gardaí members don’t need to worry about claiming for their GP consultation – it’s completely free of charge for eligible members. We handle all the necessary paperwork to reclaim the cost on your behalf.

St. Paul’s Garda Medical Aid Society FAQs

  • St. Paul’s Garda Medical Aid Society is a not-for-profit healthcare fund established to provide financial support for medical expenses to its members. It focuses on mutual assistance and operates independently from commercial insurers.

  • Membership is typically restricted to employees and former staff of certain associated institutions, including their immediate family members. Eligibility rules are defined in the society’s constitution or membership guidelines.

  • The society offers reimbursement for a variety of medical costs, such as GP visits at MedHub.

  • Claims can be submitted by completing a claim form and providing supporting documents like receipts, prescriptions or referral letters directly to St. Paul’s Garda Medical Aid Society. Members are encouraged to keep copies of all submissions for their records.
